PASTOR/AL: A Collaborative Music + Art Project

Much thanks to Dwight at Royal Rhino Flying Records for letting me know about this Kickstarter project, where your pledge will get you anywhere from a limited edition 7” and artwork to original artwork by Hunter Mack and remixes of any Roman Ruins song. For those of you who don’t know, Roman Ruins is the moniker of Graham Hill, who also happens to be the drummer for the super famous band Beach House and he also happens to drum for The Papercuts (who toured with Camera Obscura not too long ago). Lastly, the remix on his myspace of Lover Of Mine (which currently somehow only has 24 plays?) is sick. Below is a short summary of the project, and you can get more info by clicking the Kickstarter link below.
PASTOR/AL is a collaboration between a musician (Graham Hill / Roman Ruins) and a visual artist (Hunter Mack) with aspirations of producing a vinyl record and an archival art print. The basic premise is as follows: Hunter produces a painting and gives it to Graham, Graham crafts a song based on the painting and gives it to Hunter, Hunter creates a painting based on the new song - then the process repeats itself. It’s an artistic version of the childhood game “Telephone”!

I would love to make some kind of existential statement about this video, but I got nothing. Maybe, “this is your brain on Beach House.”
